New Preview available

Today, we deployed a new preview of our Prototype Creator. Beside many smaller bug fixes and server-side improvements, two new features are worth mentioning in here:

By uploading image files, you can now put a background image to a page. These images can be some prepared designs that you have made with e.g. Photoshop. When you open a page in the editor (by a double click on a page in the sitemap) the palette contains a new element called ‘ClickArea‘. This is a transparent rectangle that is used for defining click maps. Back in the sitemap you can attach arrows to such a click area to define the link target.

We have prepared some images for the preview version so you can play with them. One of the next things we have already started implementing is in-place editing. If you have other ideas, we’re looking forward to get your feedback.

Happy Easter

We wish you all a happy easter weekend. This photo shows a tree from our courtyard, where our neighbours have put lots of colored eggs. Thank you for this nice view, which we could enjoy all week long. We are pleased to have such neighbours that take care of the courtyard.

Prototype Creator on Asus Eee PC

Silvan just got his brand new Asus Eee PC. And what was the first thing to try? Our Prototype Creator!

As you can see on the pictures below, everything works just fine. And the performance on Firefox 2 was amazing. This opens up a new way of portable prototyping. čÖé

BarCamp Hannover

This weekend was a BarCamp in Hannover where we gave a presentation on rapid prototyping and showcased our preview version of the Prototype Creator. It was very interesting to see the huge interest in the topic of usability in general and rapid prototyping in particular. Only on saturday there were at least four session about some flavour of usability. I had the impression that at least half of the attendants on saturday visited the general session on usability and how to improve ones web site regarding user experience.

In our session on rapid prototyping we had a very interesting discussion on the various prototyping methods and tools. We really didn’t expect the audience to have such a deep knowledge on this topic. We’d like to thank all attendants for their participation and hope that you enjoyed the session as much as we did. For those of you, who would like to try the Prototype Creator yourself, please visit We are eagerly awaiting your feedback!

Next possibilities to meet us will be at the CeBIT, in Hannover as well. And for sure, we will attend some other BarCamps although we didn’t decide yet which ones.
